Thursday February 28, 2008

The analysts in the Small Business Development Division of the West Virginia Development Office have a new tool to help businesses.

M.E. Yancosek Gamble, director, said the division now offers a new financial analysis and diagnostic service using Inmatrix Optimist 7 software.

By using the software, "our business analysts can convert clients' financial numbers into a graphical scorecard that can help them to determine the financial impact of specific business decisions, measure the profitability of business goals and understand financial statements," she said.

WVSBDD Announces new FinancialAnalysis and Diagnostic Service

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Small Business Development Division (WVSBDD) of the West Virginia Development Office today announced that in order for its business analysts to provide more assistance to those already in business, they will offer a new financial analysis and diagnostic service utilizing Inmatrix Optimist 7 software.

“We are pleased to offer this service to help West Virginia entrepreneurs stay in business, grow their businesses and reach their goals,” said M.E. Yancosek Gamble, WVSBDD state director. ”Using the Optimist 7 software, our business analysts can convert clients’ financial numbers into a graphical scorecard that help them to determine the financial impact of specific business decisions, measure the profitability of business goals and understand financial statements.”

Roger Pell, senior vice president of Inmatrix, Inc., and WVSBDD business analysts will demonstrate the software during Entrepreneurship Day at the Capitol in Charleston from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 29. West Virginia’s Entrepreneurship Day presentations are free. Interested entrepreneurs may attend in person or watch the live Webcast of selected events. For a complete schedule, visit http://nationaleweek.com/.

To begin the financial analysis and diagnostic service, the Optimist software will produce for clients on-screen demonstrations of how their actions impact finances of their businesses. Clients will receive a snapshot of their financial performance, a comparison to their industry’s benchmarks and a financial ratio analysis. The software produces easy-to-read graphical representations of the financial analysis.

Business analysts also can produce Optimist reports that identify business problems. Using the software’s what-if analysis, analysts can forecast the effects of more clients’ business decisions. The report provides suggestions on how the business can better achieve its goals. This service will help businesses operate more profitably going forward.

Call 888-982-7232 for more information on the new financial analysis and diagnostic service.

The WVSBDD is a division of the West Virginia Development Office and works with colleges, universities and other host institutions to provide free business consulting and technical assistance statewide. The SBDD is a program supported by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and extended to the public on a non-discriminatory basis. The SBA cannot endorse any products, opinions or services of any external parties or activities. Workshops, seminars and conferences are held in disabled accessible locations. Arrangements for people with disabilities will be made if requested in advance.
